Parts of the Hat -- State 1 with pencil and pastel
33.5” x 28.5” print of plate with drypoint before collagraph materials were added; additional drawing in pencil and pastel.
The Hat refers to the shape of this aperiodic monotile. At least some people think it looks like a hat. This plate was started in May 2023 after Evan returned from his residency at Fonazione Il Bisonte in Florence.
Hiding in the Hexagons
19.5” x 23” copper plate drypoint; with paper and acrylic medium added to the plate.
The plate and edition were done during Evan’s April 2023 residency at Fondazione Il Bisonte in Florence, Italy. It was printed there by Marco Poma.
The image is based on the aperiodic monotile discovered by David Smith. It is a shape that can cover an infinite two dimensional surface with no repeating pattern.

Beneath the House (Collagraph VII)
48” x 36” - This plate has an aluminum base. I worked on this base a long time ago, probably 10 to 12 years. Bristol board was glued onto the base and a layer of silkscreen fabric over that. The plate warped but it was still printable.
